The Opportunity
DeVry Greenhouse is seeking a motivated individual with a positive attitude to join our fun and energetic team. The core focus of this position is to help along side production in the greenhouse and nursery.
The ideal candidate has some flexibility with hours due to volume changes during peak and non-peak periods. Regular hours are 7:00am to 5:00pm, Monday-Friday. Some Saturdays work will be required during peak times. Part-time work is not available.
Responsibilities and Duties
Propagating various types of cuttings.
Planting, spacing, spiking of plants.
Shipping of plants.
Other duties required in a greenhouse & nursery setting.
Qualifications
Hard working
Self-motivated
Positive and uplifting can-do attitude
Able to work alone or part of a team
Willing and able to work long hours as needed during peak shipping seasons.
Previous greenhouse experience is an asset, but we are willing to train the right individual.
Working Conditions
Physically active role (standing, lifting, repetitive motions)
Greenhouse environment with variable humidity and temperature.
Flexibility for extended hours during peak production seasons.
Performance & Growth
Bi-annual performance reviews: January and August reflections with self-evaluation, goal setting and wage review discussions.
