The Opportunity
We are hiring a Total Quality Lead to own and continuously evolve DeVry's company-wide Total Quality Management (TQM) system, with a primary focus on plant quality from propagation through in-store performance.
This role ensures quality is defined early, risks are identified and learning from store performance continuously improve how we grow, handle, and ship plants. Working closely with cross-functional teams, the Total Quality Lead helps embed consistent quality standards and drive ongoing improvement across the business.
Responsibilities
Own DeVry's Total Quality Management system, including standards, checkpoints, decision rules, and learning loops
With supporting teams, define what "great" plant quality looks like at every stage from propagation to store performance
Chair the Total Quality Council and guide cross-functional quality priorities and trade-offs
Build and maintain a closed-loop feedback system from store performance back to growing and planning
Design and govern targeted quality A/B tests (e.g. growing practices, handling, or shipping parameters) to validate improvements before standardizing
Govern ship / no-ship decision rules and escalation paths so decisions are fact-based, not pressure-driven
Design critical quality checkpoints that surface risk early (teams execute checks)
Own quality KPI definitions and signal integrity (shrink, readiness, credits, rework)
Lead root-cause analysis and CAPA for systemic quality issues
Translate learning into updated standards and standard work so issues do not repeat
Qualifications
Growing and operational credibility; engages Growing Operations, Sales, and Planning as a peer
Proven cross-functional influencer without formal authority
Hands-on experience with continuous improvement, quality, or operational excellence
Root-cause driven with strong judgement and intellectual rigor
Willing to say no, pause shipment, or escalate when standards are missed and explain trade-offs clearly
Influential communicator with a bias for clear standards, decisions and learning
Committed to ongoing mastery of Total Quality Management (TQM)

Total Rewards
We offer a competitive total rewards compensation package based on education, experience and demonstrated performance
Annual compensation range: $60,000-$70,000+ paid hourly, based on experience and expertise
